MoreJ. Taylor Crandall is a Managing Partner and a founding member of Oak Hill Capital Partners and has been part of the firm since 1986. Prior to joining Oak Hill, he was a Vice President with the First National Bank of Boston, where he managed the leveraged buyout group and the bank’s Dallas energy office. Mr. Crandall earned a B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from Bowdoin College, where he has served on the Board of Overseers. Mr. Crandall also received an honorary doctorate in humane letters from Bowdoin College in 2010.
Mark Bailey is a Co-Founder and Partner at DFJ Growth. Mark has been with DFJ since 2002 serving as a Venture Partner for DFJ ePlanet Ventures (investors in Baidu [BIDU] and Skype) focusing on growth stage investments prior to co-founding DFJ Growth in 2006. Mark has over 35 years of experience with entrepreneurial deal making in both investment and operating roles, including executive roles with Healtheon/WebMD and Symantec where he built key strategic M&A processes instrumental to their growth.
Bob Huret is Founding Partner Emeritus at FTV Capital, a $1.8 billion global private equity firm that invests in enterprise technology and services, financial services, and payments and transaction processing. Prior to founding FTV Capital in 1998, he was an independent consultant to Montgomery Securities where he did over 100 mergers and acquisitions and public offerings for commercial banks. Bob also serves as Chairman of Huret, Rothenberg & Co., a San Francisco based investment company and previously founded Newell and Associates and Third Age Media. Prior to this he held executive positions at a number of banks including BanCal Tri-State Corporation and First Chicago Corporation. Bob serves on the board of Bank of Hawaii Corp and is a past trustee of Cornell University.
George Phipps is Chairman of The Bessemer Group. He was previously a Managing Partner of Jasper Ridge Partners and co-led the private equity team. Prior to joining Jasper Ridge Partners in 2003, George was a General Partner at Apax Partners, a leading international private equity firm. Previously, George was an Investment Officer with the Czech and Slovak American Enterprise Fund and, before that, at Salomon Brothers Inc. In addition to The Bessemer Group, George serves on the board of directors of the Bessemer Trust Company and the board of managers of Bessemer Securities LLC and its principal subsidiary. George also is a member of the National Council of the Environmental Defense Fund and serves on the advisory board of the Woods Institute for the Environment at Stanford University.
Mark Wolfson is a Founder and Managing Partner of Jasper Ridge Partners and President of Jasper Ridge Charitable Fund. From 1995 to 2013, Mark was affiliated with the Robert M. Bass/Oak Hill organizations. During his tenure with these organizations, he played key roles in the formation of Jasper Ridge Strategic Partners, Jasper Ridge Diversified and Oak Hill Capital Partners. He is an Adjunct Professor at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he has been a member of the faculty since 1977, and teaches courses on investment management and philanthropic strategy. Mark has also taught at the Harvard Business School and the University of Chicago, and was a visiting scholar at the MIT Sloan School of Management and the Hoover Institution. He has been a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research since 1988, and served as an advisor to the Investment Committee of the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation from 2004 to 2017.
Arnold N. Silverman is a Consultant and Private Investor that has spent his career leading transformative companies. He has been a venture capital investor since 1991 and has over 40 years of management experience. Mr. Silverman was a founding board member of Oracle, Informatica and Business Objects which was acquired by SAP in 2007. He founded Discovery Ventures, an early stage venture firm that made investments including Informatica, Kiva (Netscape), Epiphany, and TimesTen (Oracle). Mr. Silverman has held numerous CEO and Chairman roles including leading ICOT through a turn around, acquiring Amati technologies and ultimately leading the sale of the business to Texas Instruments. He serves as a Trustee of the University of California (UC) Berkeley Foundation and is a member of the National Advisory Council Stanford DCI and of the Baker Fellowship selection committee at Berkeley.
